Town lost their second and final match of their Hungarian tour 1-0 to Diósgyõri in Miskolc on Sunday evening. The Blues fielded a more experimental side than they did against Újpest in the opening game on Friday.

Dean Bowditch scored a hat-trick as Town's reserves romped to a 6-2 win at AFC Sudbury. The Blues came behind to beat the Ridgeons League side having spurned numerous first half chances, the other goals eventually coming from Liam Craig, Darryl Knights and Dean McDonald.

Town have included trialists Rui Marques and Edwin Ouon in the squad for this evening's home friendly with Scottish Premier League champions Rangers (KO 7.45pm). The defenders are currently on a three-day trial at Portman Road.

A new defender is Joe Royle's next target after completing the signings of strikers Nicky Forster and Sam Parkin in the last couple of days. Royle has been after a new left-back for a year now but is still looking for a permanent left-sided defender.

New striker Sam Parkin was paraded at a Portman Road press conference this lunchtime after completing his £450,000 move to the Blues. The former Swindon man has signed a four-year contract with Town.

Irish U18 star Owen Garvan scored the only goal as Town's reserves beat Spurs 1-0 at Portman Road. The midfielder netted with 11 minutes remaining of the first half but the Blues really ought to have scored more than the single goal.
